What is the aim of the course?
The course seeks to support participants in improving their knowledge of trade and gender issues and the role of the WTO. It will be conducted in French. At the end of the course, participants will have a better understanding of trade and gender concepts and the development of trade policies that integrate gender issues.
The programme will consist of lectures, discussions, group exercises and interactive brainstorming in ten sessions over four days. The course forms part of the WTO’s 2022-23 Biennial Technical Assistance and Training Plan.
Who can apply?
The training course is not only aimed at officials involved in the work of the WTO and international trade but also to officials in ministries and agencies covering other areas.
How to apply?
Government officials from WTO members eligible to benefit from WTO training activities are invited to apply by 12 June 2023. Application forms and an invitation letter have been circulated to permanent missions to the WTO.
Each candidate will be expected to complete the application form, which must be signed and validated by the relevant government authority nominating the candidate. Applications are to be submitted by the Permanent Mission/Embassy to the WTO. More information on the application process is available here.
A maximum of 25 participants will be selected. They will be invited to a one-hour online information session in early July.
