Liechtenstein gives CHF 40,000 to help developing countries participate in world trade

Over 2,700 activities have taken place since the Fund was created over 20 years ago.

WTO Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said: “I thank Liechtenstein for generously supporting the WTO’s Global Trust Fund. This contribution will be important in helping government officials use policymaking to meet the needs of businesspeople from developing countries and LDCs seeking to access global markets.”

Liechtenstein’s WTO Ambassador, Kurt Jäger, said: “Liechtenstein is pleased to continue its financial support to the trade-related technical assistance activities of the WTO for the benefit of developing countries and LDCs. We are convinced of the importance of an inclusive and sustainable multilateral trading system, particularly in these challenging times for international trade.”

Overall, Liechtenstein has donated CHF 760,000 to this fund over nearly 20 years.
