Shipping Solutions Software Enhancements | Shipping SolutionsShipping Solutions is pleased to announce the latest versions of its Classic, Professional and Enterprise export documentation software. For a complete list of changes, see the blog post Shipping Solutions 9.18./8.18 Now Available.

Below some of the smaller, but still very important, updates are described.

Updated SLI in NCBFAA format

Changes have been made to the Shipper’s Letter of Instruction consistent with the recommendations of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA). Those changes include:

  • A check box for indicating whether the goods are intended for military end use in accordance with 15 CFR 744.21(a).
  • A check box for indicating if items require Partner Government Agency (PGA) reporting from AESTIR Appendix Q or X.
  • The Gross Weight of the shipment along with a SOLAS Certification check box to certify that the weight can be added to the container tare weight and used as the Verified Gross Mass.
  • Check boxes to indicate whether the shipment qualifies as a Temporary Importation Under Bond (TIB) or uses a Carnet document.
  • Removes the check box indicating that AES filing is not required.
  • Adds a statement indicating that the document does not authorize the forwarder to determine license authority or obtain export licenses.

Increased Space In the Tax ID Fields

The size of the Tax ID fields on the Commercial and Proforma invoices in Shipping Solutions have been increased to accommodate the European EORI number, which is 17 characters, and the Chinese USCI number, which is 18 characters. Shipping Solutions users should use the Tax ID field of the Ultimate Consignee to provide the EORI and USCI numbers on their documents.

New License Types

The following license types were added as required by the Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS):

  • C64 – Authorized Cybersecurity Exports (ACE)#3529
  • C65 – Temporary General License (TGL)
  • C66 – Supply Chain Authorization Letter (SCAL)
