Shipping Solutions has released two new versions of its export documentation and compliance software: Shipping Solutions Professional and Enterprise Version 9.20 and Shipping Solutions Classic Version 8.20.
Current Shipping Solutions Annual Maintenance Program (AMP) subscribers can download the new versions for free from the AMP website. Non-subscribers can get an update by sending an email to help@shipsolutions.com or calling (888) 890-7447.
This update includes a number of enhancements to the software:
- Updates the IATA Shipper’s Declaration of Dangerous Goods to comply with the regulation changes taking effect on January 1, 2025 (Professional and Enterprise only).
- Modifies the Shipper’s Letter of Instruction in NCBFAA format to match the current model provided by the National Customs Brokers Association.
- Modifies the continuation page on the Canada Customs Invoice to match the form provided by the Canadian government.
- Adds a new Proforma Invoice in landscape format that includes more contact types and the net and gross weights by line item and in total.
- Updates the DDTC USML Category Codes, BIS License Types, ITAR Exemption codes, and AES Port of Unlading (foreign port) codes.
- Updates the Export Compliance Module to distinguish which states in Ukraine have U.S. embargoes and which ones don’t (Professional and Enterprise only). You will need to enter a state code for the Ukrainian address you are screening on the EZ Start, Contacts screen in order to get the proper results. You can see a list of the Ukrainian state codes here.
- Updates the version of Crystal Reports used to 13.0.32. This should help make Shipping Solutions more compatible with other programs you may have that also use Crystal Reports.
- Enhances the report feature on the Generate Reports screen on the Utilities tab to include the last screening dates for Restricted Party Screening, Export License Determination and Document Determination. To run a report that includes those fields, click the Manage Excel Reports button and check the boxes for Screening Date, Export License Determination Date and Document Determination Date. These fields will only be available on new reports. (Click here to see a video on how to use the Generate Reports feature.)
- Adds the User Account that created the shipment to the Shipment Summary screen on the EZ Start tab.
- Provides the ability to print a list of User Accounts to Excel to help companies with many users manage their User Accounts. Simply click the Export button at the top of the User Accounts screen on the Admin tab. An Excel spreadsheet will be created that includes the User Account, First and Last name of the user, and the Group and Profile that the User Account is assigned to.
- Expands the Products Database to include new fields called Last Updated Date and Notes that you can use to help keep track of when product information is updated. For example, you may want to note when the Schedule B code for an item was last updated.
- Modifies the Packing List dimensions fields to let users enter inches with decimals to allow for better conversion between inches and centimeters. In addition, users can specify the number of decimal places displayed on the Packing List documents. To control the number of decimal places, click the Packing List or Packing List-Landscape screen on the Tools tab, Customize Documents tree. Use the Decimals on Cm and Decimals on Inches drop-down to choose the number of decimals that will display on the documents. You can also right-click on the document on the EZ Start tab, Preview/Print/Email screen to go directly to the Customize Documents screen for any document.
- Adds “Page 1 of x” to the top of the Australia, Colombia and Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA) certificates of origin to match the other FTA certificates.
